In the Heart of the Restricted Zone: PowerBully Creates Paths Where None Exist

In late May, the Swiss village of Blatten in the Lötschental valley was hit by a massive rockslide. Large parts of the settlement were destroyed, and nearly half of the valley remains inaccessible. To reconnect the region, extensive clearing and reconstruction work is underway – supported by the PowerBully 12D.

Operating in a restricted zone still considered highly unstable, the PowerBully demonstrates its full capability. Thanks to its low ground pressure and exceptional off-road mobility, it can safely navigate even the most fragile terrain. “We didn’t need to build extra access roads. Material transport became much easier, and overall efficiency increased significantly,” says Manfred Ebener, Deputy Operations Chief.

The PowerBully initially assisted in building an emergency road through forest and rock within just three weeks. It hauled excavated material, fuel, and construction supplies, even operating directly in the Lonza riverbed under extremely rough conditions.

“In terrain like this, tracks are essential – wheeled vehicles simply can’t make it,” explains operator Stefan Ritler. The PowerBully is currently transporting topsoil over muddy ground to a storage site, where it will later be reused for slope stabilization.

Beyond its impressive performance, the operators also value its comfort. “After a full day in the cab, you really notice how much the suspension and damping help,” says driver Frederik Bellwald.

At the center of the restricted zone, where most machines can’t go, the PowerBully proves its strength – reliable, powerful, and ready for the toughest missions.
